We’re the Cornbread Family, a cornbread eatin’ family of four living in Central Alabama on a small cattle farm.
If you had told me many years ago when I met my country boy and fell in love that I would be living on a cattle farm with some donkeys and chickens, and dogs, and even a cat, I don’t think I could have believed you.
Yet here we are.
We are a homeschooling, farm living family who loves the Lord and tries to make sure He is first in all we do. We fail a lot, but that’s why He sent His Son, Amen?!
Living in my great-grandparent’s old farmhouse with creaky floors, and un-level doors, and kids running all around we enjoy this simple life and pray that we get to keep on spending it together.
Why Cornbread Mama?
I love all things old. Old things are simple … easy … classic. I’m a bit old-fashioned, I guess you could say. I love the era when people loved their neighbors, took them food when they were sick, and all the sort of things you don’t see any more.
Cornbread is simple … easy … classic … Southern … a bit old-fashioned, and I love it. I’ve loved it my whole life. When I was two at my great-grandmother’s house my mother looked over to see me walking around with an entire half of cornbread eating straight through the middle.
So pull up a rocker and sit a spell as we share our farm life and recipes here on Cornbread Mama’s blog.
