Mama’s biscuits

I tell you the best way to make a man, well, my man happy is #1 buy him some cows, and #2 make him breakfast for supper. Yeah, he’s fairly easy to please {well, all except the cows}. Tonight we all hurt ourselves on the home made biscuits with honey, link sausage, grits, eggs, & pancakes (by JoJo). So I thought I’d share my tried and true biscuit recipe.

3 cups SR. flour

3/4 cups butter (room temp)

1 1/4 cups buttermilk

1 tsp salt

1 tbs sugar

Cut the butter into the flour and add other ingredients. Stir together then work with hands to combine.

I hate to roll out dough so I flour my hands then grab a small ball of dough and flatten into a biscuit shape. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 450 degrees 10-12 minutes.

Hope you enjoy!

Living on a small family farm in the Southeast Cornbread Mama enjoys sharing about her life. Between being the wife of a cowboy, homeschooling mom to boy/girl twins, artist, and Christ-follower praying for a simple life in this crazy world Cornbread Mama finds comfort in writing about her family adventures here on the farm surrounded by 18 cows and calves, 2 donkeys, 3 dogs, and 9 chickens. So pull up a rocker and sit a spell.
